I’ve created a list of 40 things that I’ve learnt in the past 19 years and thought I’d share it with you.
1. Soap and cold water will be your best friend when you get your period
2. Heat protectant is a thing for a reason and should be used every time heat is applied to your hair
3. Moisturising your body is just as important as moisturising your face
4. You can’t eat a load of junk food and not expect to put weight on
5. Don’t change to impress another person
6. Just because you have money in your bank account doesn’t mean you have to spend it
7. Not having internet isn’t the end of the world
8. Hair stripper leaves your hair smelling like egg for about a week
9. Your parents aren’t right about everything
10. Work out isn’t as bad as you think it is
11. It’s okay to say no to something
12. It’s okay to say yes to something
13. It’s okay to cut people off if they aren’t good for you
14. Secondary school & college don’t last forever
15. Blackout curtains are the best thing for getting rid of the sun
16. Spray on Sunscreen is brilliant
17. Opening bottles with your teeth is a bad idea
18. If you find the right one, birth control will be your best friend at that time of the month
19. If you need glasses wear them, you’ll thank yourself later
20. There is nothing wrong with give your parents a hug in your teenage years (or any years)
21. You don’t have to drink 2 litres of water a day if you can’t manage it
22. Don’t believe everything you read, especially if it’s on the internet
23. Being in love is a beautiful thing
24. Holding a grudge really isn’t worth it
25. Family is important
26. “Organised mess” is still mess
27. Your parents only want the best for you
28. Even though you have a job, your parents will won’t want you to get them things at birthdays & Christmas. They also think you spending more than £5 on them is too much
29. In summer black clothing is not your friend
30. Freshly bathed dogs are fluffy
31. Just because you can’t see your friends all the time doesn’t mean they aren’t there for you when you need them
32. Painting nails isn’t as easy as it looks
33. Ikea will become one of you favourite home stores
34. Mini golf is great
35. The dentist can tell if you haven’t flossed so doing it for the first time the night before doesn’t fool anyone
36. You care about somethings so much more than you should
37. It’s okay to treat yourself & other people
38. You’ll lose like 20 friends after high school
39. Double texting is okay
40. You’ll lose about 200 strands of hair a day, it’s probably normal and you aren’t going bald

Love this, losing 20 friends after high school is so true! And the flossing before going to the dentist made me laugh haha. I would add that you never feel as though you’re an adult, even when the adulting ages come and go! xx

Great post, i always love seeing lessons and things people learn. I majorly agree with the “you’ll lose like 20 friends after high school” lol, so true. And YES, it’s okay to say no or yes to things. Very important thing to realize!
